It was a vibrant day at the Farndon site of Irish Groupage Services as the team came together to celebrate the life of Rosie May with a charity tea party, raising an impressive £237.41 in the process.

The event, held on Friday 9 May, marked what would have been Rosie May’s 32nd birthday. The fundraising effort was part of the wider Rosie May Day campaign, which invites individuals and organisations to host Global Tea Parties throughout May to honour Rosie’s memory and support the work of the Rosie May Foundation.

The charity, based in Bingham, was established in early 2004 by Mary and Graham Storrie following the tragic loss of their daughter Rosie, who was murdered at just 10 years old.

The foundation now focuses on empowering children through education, safety, and opportunities, both in the UK and overseas.

Colleagues at Irish Groupage Services turned the workplace pink in tribute, donning themed clothing and contributing an array of homemade cakes. Staff and visitors alike got involved, enjoying sweet treats and sunshine in exchange for donations to the cause.

Adding an extra splash of personality to the day, ‘Rosie’, the eye-catching Little Pink Tuk Tuk, was on hand to offer rides around the 11-acre site – a firm favourite that drew plenty of smiles and support.

Emma Clarkson, Business Development Manager at Irish Groupage Services, shared how much the event meant to her personally:
“With perfect weather and such a strong turnout, the atmosphere was full of energy and warmth. We’re so proud to have raised over £200 already – and the support keeps coming. Our JustGiving page will stay open for the rest of the month for anyone else who’d like to donate.”

Emma, who previously worked with the Rosie May Foundation, also described the event as a touching reunion:
“It felt incredibly special to be part of Rosie May Day again – and to be reunited with the Tuk Tuk! As if it were meant to be, one of our regular deliveries arrived in a bright pink container that matched the theme perfectly.”

The Rosie May Day campaign runs all throughout May, encouraging participants to organise their own tea parties in any setting – whether it’s the office, a classroom, garden, or beach. All you need is something pink to wear, a few cakes to share, and a willingness to support a meaningful cause.
